Founded in 2004, the Club was formally constituted on 21 October 2005 – the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Nelson, reputedly one of the Wandle’s most famous fishermen (though there’s still some debate about how much he actually fished the river!) Wandle trout have been famous since the Middle Ages, but the river also holds lots of other species, for instance chub, barbel, perch, roach and dace.
More recently, it has set up a junior branch – the Wandle Young Piscators – to teach good fishing and conservation practices and to instil a love for the river and its wildlife.

Morden Hall Park is a National Trust site on the east side of Morden adjacent to where the A24 meets the A297.
