On the west end you can either choose to exit via Barber Springs Road down to FS31 to return to Ellensburg, Follow FS1701 to FS1720 to exit to Hwy 410 and Cliffdell or if you are in the mood to do something a little more challenging you can run 4W694 (Summit Trail) to Funny rocks. Pass a talus field and weave in and out of the forest into clearings that offer views of Ellensburg’s wind farms and the Stuart range. The Forest Service’s Wilderness Evaluation from 2009 states, “[t]here are no major scenic values...the key area attraction is the motorized trail system.” But you may come to a different conclusion after visiting this area!
